This St. Paddy’s Day, make sure your night ends with good craic, not a crisis! Know the signs of alcohol poisoning and how to help.

If someone shows any of these signs, CALL 911 immediately:
P.U.B.S. — The Signs of Alcohol Poisoning:
P - Puking without waking up
U - Unresponsive (won’t wake up)
B - Breathing is slow, irregular, or stopped
S - Seizures
While waiting for help, be a lucky charm by:
Keeping them awake if possible
Placing them in the recovery position (on their side)
Monitoring their breathing and doing CPR if needed
Alcohol poisoning is serious—it can lead to brain damage or even death. Keep your friends safe this St. Patrick’s Day!
The Recovery Position – Your Lucky Move
If someone has had too much to drink, don’t let them lie on their back—they could choke!
🍀 How to do it:
Turn them on their side
Support their head to keep airways clear
Bend one knee to prevent rolling over
Stay with them and monitor their breathing
Be the friend who keeps the good times rolling safely!
Do’s & Don’ts – Keep the Celebration Safe!
Not everyone who drinks too much has alcohol poisoning, but they still need care.
DO:
Keep them safe—no driving, biking, or wandering alone
Gently distract them from drinking more
Have them sit up or lie in the recovery position
Stay with them
DON’T:
Leave them alone
Give them food or drinks if they’re vomiting
Try to sober them up with coffee, showers, or exercise
Remember: The only cure for intoxication is time—alcohol stays in the body for up to 24 hours!
